The Kangaroo Island Natural Resources Management Board acknowledges and celebrates  the hard work of natural resources management volunteers on Kangaroo Island by hosting the biennial ‘Local Achievers NRM Awards’.

2012 Local Achievers Awards

The 2012 awards introduced a new category for business giving the following four categories for the awards to recognise volunteers and businesses and their natural resource management efforts on Kangaroo Island:

• Community NRM Project Award 
• NRM Youth Award
• Outstanding Individual Award
• Business Award

Awards were presented at the ‘Sustainable Farms, Sustainable Island’ Conference Dinner held at the Yacht Club Kingscote on August 18, 2012.  Winners received a beautiful glass plate created by Anne Morrison of Cockatoo Cottage, a framed certificate of recognition and a financial contribution to their natural resources activities. The awards were presented by representatives of the key conference sponsors.
