The Building a Sustainable Future program aims to ensure the sustainable reparation and management of Kangaroo Island’s natural resources by a skilled and informed local community undertaking best practice land management techniques.
Water and soils are core NRM assets of the Island and a significant portion of these assets are managed by the farming community of the Island. By working in partnership with the community greater natural resources management outcomes can be achieved.
The soils of KI are core assets that contribute fundamentally to the regions environmental, economic and social prosperity. An aware community that undertakes best practice land and property management is a core requirement to maintaining and improving soil health.
