Our Glossy Black-Cockatoos need you!

If you'd like to visit unique parts of KI and enjoy sunsets surrounded by the sights and sounds of native flora and fauna....... then come join the fun with Glossy Black Project Officer Mike Barth and other volunteers. You'll be contributing to the recovery efforts of one of the rarest cockatoos in Australia and will experience a wildlife adventure you might even write home about!

Glossy Black-Cockatoos nest from January through August on KI and nestwatchers are needed to assist with finding and monitoring nests across the island. No previous experience is necessary. Training and transportation is provided.

Field trips currently depart Kingscote weekly on Tues, Wed & Thurs around 5:30pm and return to Kingscote around 9-10:30pm depending on distance to/from site.
