Natural resource management impacts directly or indirectly on every resident, ratepayer and visitor to Kangaroo Island. The Kangaroo Island Natural Resources Management Plan 2009 sets out the direction for managing the Island’s natural resources for the benefit of its social, economic and environmental future. The Kangaroo Island Natural Resources Management Plan sets out the board’s goals for managing natural resources and a scheme for implementing natural resource management programs and policies

The Plan was developed with extensive consultation through community forums with both on- and off-island stakeholders. This extensive consultation has resulted in a plan that combines the priorities of the community with the legislative responsibilities of the board.

Annual Review of the Business Plan

The success of the KI NRM Board depends on more than plans – it relies on people. The Board continues to work with the local community, stakeholders and agencies to develop and implement a range of NRM activities through a variety of programs to achieve the targets identified for NRM in the plan.
