About the Plan

The Kangaroo Island Natural Resources Management Regional Plan sets out the Board’s goals for managing natural resources and a scheme for implementing natural resources management programs and policies

The Plan has been developed with extensive consultation through community forums with both on- and off-island stakeholders. This extensive consultation has resulted in a plan that combines the priorities of the community with the legislative responsibilities of the Board.

The Plan comes in 6 separate volumes as listed below.

These volumes are also available under Publications (click here), on CD or can be bought in hard copy by volumes or as a complete plan at the Board’s office at 35 Dauncey Street Kingscote.

Information sheets on water affecting activities and farm dams are available in hard copy or here on the Board’s website.

Success depends on people

The success of the KI NRM Board depends on more than plans – it relies on people. The Board continues to work with the local community, stakeholders and agencies to develop and implement a range of NRM activities through a variety of programs to achieve the targets identified for NRM in the plan. Current programs are outlined in the KI NRM Plan’s Volume 4: Implementation Part B: KI NRM Board Business Plan 2010-2013 PDF (322 kB).
